Scheduling Your Lessons

Nereids instructors come to your place! If you don’t have your own pool, we could do your lessons in an ocean rock pool, or netted beach area, or you can hire a pool through Swimply and get a $25 discount with Nereids! Coupon Code: NEREIDS25

You have complete control of it! Please keep in mind that once your lessons are scheduled in our system, then the cancellation policy applies.

How can I book private swimming lessons with Nereids?

The process to book your lessons with Nereids swim school is very simple:

2-We will match you with one of the swim teachers according to your location and your preferred days and times.

3-Once the payment is processed, then you can schedule your lessons via our online scheduling system up to 24 hours before each lesson on the days and times that are convenient for you.

4-Start your lessons and Become a Mythical Swimmer!

Do you offer flexible scheduling?

Yes! We match you with a teacher who has the availability that suits you! And you can schedule your lessons on different days and times throughout the week. You can even schedule your lessons one at a time and even 24 hours before each lesson!

How do I schedule my lessons?

Your lessons can be scheduled via our online scheduling system. We offer you the flexibility to use them as credits and schedule them in our online system as you go with at least 24 hours before each lesson as per our cancellation policy.

You can book as many lessons as you want and then schedule them in the system in either of the following ways:

  • As you go (one at a time or more) with at least 24 hours before lesson: this option gives you more flexibility and control to avoid cancellation fees but you might not always find the spot that you want.

OR

  • As many lessons as possible weeks in advance: this option secures your preferred dates/times with our teacher but with the risk that the lesson might be forfeited in case of a cancellation. This option is recommended especially during the high season due to the high demand for our services.

However, once the lessons are scheduled in our system then the cancellation policy applies as our teacher is committed to delivering the lessons for you and is expecting to be paid.

Thus, please schedule only the lessons that you are certain you can commit to and make sure to skip dates that you might have planned trips or holidays to avoid any cancellation penalties.

Do I need to schedule my lessons every week on the same day and time?

Not at all! You are totally free to schedule your lessons as you wish. For example, you might schedule a lesson for this Friday afternoon, next week for Saturday morning, the following week no lessons, etc.

What is your availability / What days and hours are your lessons being conducted?

As a mobile swim school, we offer our services 365 days a year, from 5am to 11pm. However, each teacher’s availability varies. Each one of our teachers has their own schedule, and their daily available hours will be visible in the system for you to choose from. Don’t forget, you can book your lessons as far in advance as you’d like as long as the time is free in the system!

What is the next step if I want to go ahead?

First, you would need to fill out our enrolment form here which is an expression of interest (no payment is required). After that, you will be matched with one of our swim teachers. You will then receive an invoice, and after the payment has been processed, you will be ready to start scheduling your swim lessons with us!

Do you guys offer perks for booking lessons in bulk?

Yes! If you book between 11-21 lessons, you are entitled to +1 free lesson. If you book between 22-33 lessons, you are entitled to +3 free lessons!

And if you book 50 lessons, you are entitled to +11 free lessons!!

Can I book only one lesson to try your services?

No. Our packages start from 5 lessons. However, we do offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee!

What happens if I am not satisfied after the first lesson?

If you are not satisfied with your first lesson, our team will ensure you're paired with someone else who meets your needs and expectations.

Do my credit lessons have an expiry date?

Yes, your credit lessons will expire after 12 months of your purchase, except the Elite package of 50 +11 free lessons which expires in 18 months.

I am not a native English speaker. Can I still book lessons with you?

With a diverse team of swim teachers, one of our teachers might speak your language. While we cannot guarantee this for everyone, feel free to leave a comment when enrolling and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Do seniors get a discount?

Yes! You can find more information on discounts with your senior card here.

Are you an Active Kids Provider?

Nereids swim school is an approved Active Kids Provider. Please find more information on how to redeem your active kids voucher here.

How many swim lessons should I book?

You can book as many lessons as you want, starting from 5. You can always book more lessons later on. However, please keep in mind that the more lessons you book, the lower the fees.

How do one-on-one and back-to-back lessons work?

We offer you the flexibility to book your preferred overall time and then split this time into one-on-one and back-to-back lessons for each student.

For example, if you have 2 kids and you booked 90 minutes, you can then split this lesson into 60 minutes for one kid, and 30 minutes for the other kid. As a result, we will be able to enhance our students’ unique strengths and they will progress faster.

Can I book group lessons?

We offer only one-on-one lessons. This is because we want to ensure high quality and fast progression!

If you have 2 or more kids you can book an overall time such as 45, 60, or 90 minutes, and split this time into one-on-one and back-to-back lessons for each student. With the one-on-one lessons, the students will get individual attention from our teacher. As a result, we will be able to enhance their unique strengths and they will progress faster.

We offer you the flexibility to choose whatever length and number of lessons you want.

I don't have my own pool. What solutions can I have?

In such case, you might have the following solutions:

  • Ask any of your friends/family who do have a home pool to provide you access.
  • Do the lessons in an ocean rock pool.
  • Do the lessons in a netted beach area.
  • Do the lessons at the teacher’s location as some of our teachers have access to home pools and apartment pools.
  • Hire a home pool through Swimply and get a $25 discount with Nereids! Coupon Code: NEREIDS25
Can I pay with a credit card?

Yes you can. Please note that there is a surcharge of 3% on all card transactions. Alternatively, you can pay via bank transfer.

Will I have the same teacher all the time?

We have a higher rate of consistency than other schools. We will do our best to complete your package with the same teacher. However, we can’t guarantee that 100% as life might kick in – for example, we had a lovely teacher but then she got accepted to a PhD program in Brisbane, so she needed to move there by a certain date.

What happens if I have children of varying levels of swimming experience?

Not a problem! We recommend running your lessons such that each child has sufficient time with their teacher. For example, booking a 60-minute lesson that is broken down into 20 minutes for the less experienced child and 40 minutes for the stronger swimmer would work perfectly.

Can I specifically request for a male/female teacher?

We will do our best to accommodate these requests, but it also depends on the availability of the teachers in your suburb. However, we guarantee all our teachers (both males and females) are highly professional. We have solid policies in place, and we screen our teachers with police checks and WWCC.

We have had previous clients specifically request a female teacher. However, after a trial with a male teacher, they came back to us and said they adored him so much they wanted to continue with this male teacher and didn’t wish to exchange.

Can I put forward specific goals or outcomes that I want out of my lesson?

Absolutely! We understand that different students may want different results out of our lessons. This can range from overcoming a fear of water to coming in first in their carnival. We cater to this and match you to a teacher that fits the bill.

Should I book lessons per school term?

No. We offer you the flexibility to choose whatever duration and number of lessons you want. Thus, there is no need to book your lessons per school term.

What if I’m concerned about extreme weather?

Please note that we offer you an innovative way to schedule your lessons! You don't have to schedule them each week at the same time. With our swim school, we offer you the flexibility to schedule your lessons on different days and times throughout the week.

Therefore, you may schedule only the lessons that you can commit to as per our cancellation policy.

This includes checking the weather forecast (if you don’t wish to do lessons under rain) before scheduling your lessons in our system.

We offer you the flexibility to use your purchased lessons as credits and schedule them in our system as you go with at least 24 hours before each lesson.

Fees
How do your fees work?

You have the flexibility to book as many lessons as you want! The more lessons you decide to book in advance, the lower the cost per lesson will be.

What are your fees?

Our fees are not fixed and depend on:

  1. the time length for each lesson (45, 60 min, etc.), and
  2. the number of lessons you would be interested in booking in advance: meaning that the more lessons you will prepay, the cost per lesson will be lower.

For more information, please visit our website here and here for our special offers. Alternatively, you can use our fee calculator which can also be found on our website.

Do you have any special offer?

For all our special offers, please see here.

Is there a Money Back Guarantee?

If you feel your current instructor isn’t the perfect match for your swimming goals, you're welcome to change your instructor at any time. If you find that our teaching style isn't up to your standards after trying two different instructors, we offer a full refund of all unused credits.

Is the cost of private swimming lessons worth it?

Let's do some water math — don't worry, it's as easy as floating on a noodle!

Public Pool Costs: $25 per group lesson (30 minutes, 5 students each) Result: Approximately 5 minutes of individual attention per class

Let's Compare: To match our one 45-minute lesson time and dedicated attention, public pools would need 9 x 5-minute lessons (totaling 45 minutes).

Public Pool Cost for Similar Results: 9 x 5-minute lessons x $25 = $225 for 45 minutes

Nereids Costs per 45 Minutes = $95

Total per 45 Minute Lesson:/

Public Pools $225
Vs
Nereids $95

By choosing private swimming lessons with Nereids Aquatic Coaching® you save $130 per lesson costs compared to public pools!

Plus, imagine the priceless value of a child's fast-track progression, time saved from traveling back and forth, and the added convenience of lessons right in your home pool!

Do I need to supervise my child’s lessons?

Yes. Your child's swimming lessons should always be supervised by a parent or guardian.

Am I too old to learn to swim?

It's never too late to learn how to swim!

It’s indeed better and more effective to start swimming lessons at a young age. However, no matter the age, we will help you to become confident in the water and learn how to swim!

Our lesson plans aim at enhancing your confidence and focus on the best use of your individual skills. We also have a swimming program that is specially structured to meet the needs of people who have a fear of water.

Do swimming lessons take place only in summer?

As most of our swimming lessons take place in outdoor pools, the majority of them occur between October and April, but heated or indoor pools can prolong this period.

Do I need any equipment?

Not at all! Our teachers are equipped with everything necessary to run lessons at all levels. A pair of goggles and a swimsuit is all that is required to get started.

Can I do lessons with you in a public pool?

External swim schools like ours are not allowed to do their lessons in public pools or gyms due to a conflict of interest because the majority of these pools run their own swimming programs.

Alternative options could be:

  • Request permission from a friend or relative who has access to a home pool either a backyard or apartment complex pool
  • Your local hotel or gym (if permitted)
  • Ocean rock pool
  •  Netted beach area
  • Teacher’s location as some of our teachers have access to home pools and apartment pools.
  • Hire a pool through Swimply and get a $25 discount with Nereids! Coupon Code: NEREIDS25

Do you offer private swimming lessons for babies?

How long it will take for a child to learn how to swim?

No swim school can guarantee something like that but with our swim school students progress faster than anywhere else they would try. Nereids’ team always adapts its teaching program to the needs and strengths of each child.

We have a sparkling track record of fast-tracked progress from many of our clients. This can be seen in our online reviews, and we will do our very best to ensure your child makes solid progress over the lessons.

What happens if my child doesn’t want to put his/her face underwater?

We will not push your child to put his/her face underwater. Rather, we will just work on his/her strengths and eventually give it a go when the child is ready, maybe at first, only to splash his/her face and then build on that.

I am an adult with a fear of deep water. How many lessons will it take for me to gain full water confidence?

No swim school can guarantee something like that but with our swim school students progress faster than anywhere else they would try.

The number of lessons that are required for any swimmer depends always on the individual. We have students who are physical learners and as a result, they pick up instructions faster, and some others require longer time. What we can guarantee you as a swim school is that you will notice significant improvement after each lesson.

We have a sparkling track record of fast-tracked progress from many of our clients. This can be seen in our online reviews, and we will do our very best to ensure you make solid progress over the lessons. However, as a general rule of thumb, for most adult beginners, we would estimate anywhere between 10 to 25 x 60-minute lessons. And this is why we have those offers on our website. Please train also between the lessons by yourself to speed up the process.

Do you offer private swimming lessons for children and adults with disabilities?

Yes! We have experienced and caring teachers for children and adults with various disabilities.

Do I have to be in the water throughout the lesson?

No. However, we do require a parent or guardian to be present throughout the entire duration of the lesson.

How long are the lessons?

Lessons start at 45 minutes with no maximum limit and are entirely up to your discretion. For example, if you decide to book ten 120-minute lessons but later feel that it’s a little too long, we are happy to restructure it into twenty 60-minute lessons.

However, once you schedule your lessons in our system, then the cancellation policy applies as our teacher is committed to delivering the lessons.

Thus, please schedule in our system only the lessons that you are certain you can commit to and make sure to skip dates that you might have planned any trips or holidays to avoid any cancellation penalties. Please also check the weather predictions before scheduling your lessons.

What if my child is sick?

Please cancel any scheduled lessons if your child is suffering from a contagious disease, influenza (flu), fever, runny nose, sore throat, cold sores/open wounds, vomiting, diarrhea, gastroenteritis, head lice, or ringworm. Should this occur, please inform your teacher as soon as possible. To use your free cancellation due to illness, you should contact the teacher at least 6 hours before the lesson.

What happens if it is too cold to swim?

What if it is raining and I don’t want to go ahead with the lesson?

In that case, our cancellation policy applies as our teachers can teach well even if it is raining.

Can I cancel my lesson if the weather prediction indicates there will be a thunderstorm?

As weather forecasts are not always accurate, your teacher will assess the weather in real-time. In case of thunder, the lesson will be canceled, and any remaining time will be added to your future lessons.

You still have the flexibility to cancel your lesson at any time, but please keep in mind that our cancellation policy will apply.

We want to go on a holiday. Can we cancel our lessons?

If your lessons are already scheduled in our system, then our cancellation policy will apply. We offer you the flexibility to schedule only the lessons that you can commit to and thus avoid any cancellation penalties.

We purchased some lessons but haven’t scheduled any in the system for quite some time. We will be away for a few months. Will we lose these lessons?

That depends on the date you purchased your lessons. All unused lessons will expire after 12 months of your purchase, except the Elite package of 50 +11 free lessons which expires in 18 months.

We have scheduled 60-minute lessons for our 2 kids, with 30 minutes going to each child. What happens if one of them gets sick?

In this case, we can do the whole lesson with the second child, or the remaining time can be given to anyone else in the family or even to your friend or neighbor.

What happens if I cancel my lesson but am not aware of your cancellation policy?

Our swim lesson agreement is very explicit with our cancellation policy and part of the agreement made when you booked lessons with us. Please note that you signed and ticked that you agree to our cancellation policy when enrolling with us. Thus, the cancellation policy applies even in such cases.

If I don’t think my current teacher is a good fit, can I request a different one?

Absolutely! We do our best to find the perfect fit based on the criteria/goals listed in your enrolment form. However, unforeseen circumstances can sometimes still arise. We will match you with a different teacher if so requested, to ensure that you are satisfied with our service.

What happens if I am not satisfied with my first lesson?

If you are not satisfied with your first lesson, our team will ensure you're paired with someone else who meets your needs and expectations.

Do my lessons get rescheduled if I cancel them?

Yes, as long as the cancellation is made with 24-hour notice and didn’t occur on a third consecutive week of cancellations.

Reviews
Sami Samour

Two years I have tried to teach my kids to swim from one school to another. I regret the money I have wasted . It took three lessons 90 minutes each for my kids to swim independently . Thank you for the team of Nereids.

Jo Saccasan

I highly recommend Nereids! My daughter who has autism learnt more in her first 45 minute lesson with Conner than 18 months at another swim school that was meant to be for children with additional needs.
