recreational breaststroke swimming for kids sydney

Nereids Aquatic Coaching Team offers private swimming lessons for recreational breaststroke in the area of Sydney.  This style, indeed, has gradually become one of the most popular swimming strokes. And not without a reason! It is very practical, enjoyable and effective for keeping a good physical condition.

Recreational Breaststroke Gives you Control

Although it may seem demanding, recreational breaststroke is actually quite easy to learn and practice. The body needs to be in a prone position with both arms moving synchronously and executing short underwater movements. Your feet kick backwards, your legs extend and brought together and your chest is at an inclined position functioning as the balance point of the human body.

The basic reason why recreational breaststroke is so popular is that there is no need for having your head in the water. Many people are not fond of diving underwater and find this stroke the ideal one. Furthermore, it allows them to have more control while swimming as their heads are outside the water all the time, thus giving them total control of what's ahead of them.

Structure of Recreational Swimming Lesson Program in Sydney

The structure of our recreational swimming curriculum for both children and adults is explained below:

Nereids Aquatic Coaching Galene™ lesson program is designed for children and adult swimmers who either do not want to put their face underwater or are not ready yet.

Upon completion of the recreation swimming program, our students will be able to enjoy many advantages:

  • Learn how to keep their heads out of water
  • Increase their energy levels
  • Improve their mood and relax their minds
  • Enjoy the experience of non-competitive swimming with no stress
  • Not worry about injuries as the Galene training program does not affect joints

In this lesson program, we teach our young and adult swimmers recreational breaststroke. This swimming stroke is mainly beneficial for senior adults as well as people with obesity due to their lack of flexibility.

Overall, Galene is mainly designed for beginner swimmers who want to learn how to remain safe in the water and enjoy swimming without being necessary to put their face in the water.

Recreational Breaststroke is Highly Beneficial

It shall be pointed out that recreational breaststroke is very different from competitive breaststroke. The latter is, indeed, one of the hardest swimming strokes, as it demands absolute coordination of movement, being the slowest of all competitive swimming strokes.

On the other hand, the recreational aspect changes everything, as you don't need to perform the standard sequence of movements at an extreme pace. The combination of slow swimming with the variety of body movements that are required makes recreational breaststroke a highly beneficial training practice.

It is a great workout for both the upper and lower body, strengthening the legs, knees, chest, shoulder and back as well as most of the body muscles. Additionally, when it is performed over longer distances, it is an excellent stimulus for the heart and lungs. Recreational breaststroke is also a great workout for the whole family and excellent for socialising.

Recreational Breaststroke is Flexible and Appealing

Recreational breaststroke is especially appealing as it is a very flexible swimming stroke and is ideal for many people. It is an excellent choice for beginner adults, seniors, obese people or individuals who are not fond of putting their heads underwater.

Since there is no competitive element, our students can choose the intensity levels of their training. There are several options for our students, depending on their personal needs and preferences.

You can either use recreational breaststroke to swim easy and long workouts or you can give yourself a challenge by swimming harder and quicker. Or else, you can switch from one program to the other depending on your energy level and the experience you gain from lesson to lesson. In any case, the choice is yours!

Nereids team, as always, applies a totally personalised method, focusing on the needs and unique personalities of our students.

Two years I have tried to teach my kids to swim from one school to another. I regret the money I have wasted . It took three lessons 90 minutes each for my kids to swim independently . Thank you for the team of Nereids.

I highly recommend Nereids! My daughter who has autism learnt more in her first 45 minute lesson with Conner than 18 months at another swim school that was meant to be for children with additional needs.
